I think that something here’s amiss
So correct me if I’m wrong.
Honestly.

Isn’t it true that friends always:
Have your back?
Stick together?
Never let each other fall?
Aren’t friends supposed to be
The ones who stay there through it all?

Aren’t friends honest?

Isn’t it true that friends always:
Cheer?
They never insult
What they know you hold dear?
Spend time with each other,
Are priority over strangers,
Aren’t friends supposed to be
Special?

Isn’t it true that friends sit together?
And talk to each other in public?
Don’t blow each other off?
Don’t walk away in the middle of conversations?
Don’t move when one sits down next to the other—
Like she’s a leper or something—
Like you can’t stand her…

Aren’t friends honest?

Isn’t it true that friends always:
Stick up for you in fights?
Don’t let their mothers throw you into the streets,
Forced to sleep in a parking lot,
Because she couldn’t even spare a floor for a runaway?

Aren’t friends supposed to speak up
If they think that something’s wrong?
If you run out of the room,
In tears,
Don’t they say something when you return?

And aren’t friends honest?
Honestly, am I really your friend?

I love it, vaguely recognise some things but that's proably just me and my weirdness ^^;

Screaming is bad for the voice, but it's good for the heart.
Honestly I didn't notice the title until I finished the first stanza. ^^;

I really like the poem. The way it was set up as a serries of questions. And the way the Narrator is asking them shows that they already know the answers.

(I'm a writing junky. If you think you are too. Well.... we'll see. [link]
^^; I tried to keep some of the stuff ambiguous, so it doesn't only apply to me. Glad you like it!

"Richard - this is reality. Get used to it. It's all there is. See you on Monday.
Very well-written indeed :) I love your poetry.
^^; I'm glad you like it! And... yeah, Narrator already knows the answers. It's mildly masochistic, the way it keeps asking them.
Thanks for the :+fav:!
